It was hoped that this video would provide an depth review of the development, triumph, excitement and predictable demise of the Group B rally cars. As the running time of the film was only 65 minutes, far too much time was devoted to the origins of rallying (which can surely be found elsewhere) and far too little on the 1980s rally monsters. The amount of rally footage is feeble (excessive time is spent watching restored road versions driving around a racing circuit), although the sight of a 600bhp Audi Quattro S1 car carving through a sea of spectators is truely terrifying. The commentary informs you of the technical specifications of each Group B car, but there is little else to catch your interest. Save your money and buy The World's Greatest Rally Cars on VHS or DVD, where you will find better footage of the Group B cars as well as other gems stretching through the entire history of rallying.
